My Journey into Photography

Photoshop filter: Film Grain effect

with 2 comments

I love lamps, and so does hubby.  We are also always amazed at the number of lamps we see in the background of any given TV programs.  Take Desperate Housewifes for example.  Lamps, lamps everywhere  :)  .

My favourite lamp at home, is one that hubby bought at the spur of the moment (during a lunch break, believe it or not).  The shade with tassels is simply gorgeous.  I never took a photo of it, until now….!  The editting that I did are as follows:

1.  A minor adjustment for shadow and lighting.  I took the photo at daytime, therefore there is no amber glow.  The shadow you see is due to the sunlight from a nearby window.  The colour of the wall came out wrong and I don’t know how to correct it.  (I must check my White Balance function in the camera – I thought it was automatic)

2.  I added the film grain filter effect.  I don’t know about you, but I think this effect on this particular photo works well :)
